By coincidence on Tuesday evening (8 June) there will be an Elton John Concert in Budapest. The Organizers will try to reserve tickets for the Participants. Ticket prices vary between 42 Euro and 115 Euro in five categories. Please indicate by return e-mail to lesbudapest@blaguss-congress.hu the number of tickets you need, as they might be sold out possibly soon.

Please note that the handling fee of ticket booking is 3 Euro above the ticket price.

The LES Pan-European Conference 2010 Welcome Reception is the first social opportunity to meet colleagues and friends in the vibrating city of Budapest. The Welcome Reception will be held in Budapest Marriott Hotel (Conference Venue) which is located in the city center, on the bank of the Danube, just minutes away from the main attractions of the Hungarian Capital. The Welcome Reception will be followed by a concert performed by the worldwide famous Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra. Do not miss this special event and make sure to arrive to Budapest by Sunday evening the latest.

The highlight of the LES Pan-European Conference 2010 is the Gala Dinner which will take place in an imposing and memorable location near to the Heroes’ Square on Monday evening. Coupling with a glass of champagne you can enjoy an unforgettable atmosphere provided by the Gundel Restaurant a pearl of the Hungarian Art Deco design. The elegant four-course dinner is escorted with good Hungarian wines and music provided by one of the most famous local jazz orchestra led by singer Micheller Myrtill.

Micheller Myrtill has been a well-known artist in the Hungarian music industry for more than ten years. After graduating as a jazz vocalist major from the Franz Liszt Music Academy, she started her music career as a jazz singer and vocal coach. She performed in many national and international competitions achieving reputation not only in Hungary but also in Europe.

Transportation by bus from the Conference Venue to the Gala Dinner and back to the hotels will be provided.

In the late morning the visitors arrive to the Lake Balaton which is called the “Hungarian Sea”. It is the largest sweetwater lake in Central Europe and is also very famous for its wine. The first break will be on the peninsula of Tihany. Before a traditional Hungarian lunch the guests will visit the Abbey of Tihany which was founded nearly a 1000 years ago. Standing near the Abbey guests can admire the beautiful landscape of the entire Lake Balaton. Accommodation at Balatonfüred, on the shore of the lake in a nice resort hotel is included. In the afternoon you will have a chance to enjoy the rich wellness facilities of the hotel. Dinner and wine tasting will be offered at Saint Donat Wine House.
On the second day, before leaving for Budapest, the guests take a walk in Balatonfüred which is a historical Hungarian holiday resort.

An approximetly three and a half-hour long sightseeing tour that shows the most attractive features of the capital. On 6 and 7 June, 2010 (Sunday and Monday) participants can take the opportunity to visit the Hungarian State Opera House, while on 8 June, 2010 (Tuesday) the impressive House of Parliament where the Coronation Regalia is exhibited.

The whole day program includes visiting Esztergom, the birthplace of the first Hungarian King and the residence of the Hungarian Cardinal Archbishop (Basilica, Treasury). With a short walk at the picturesque Visegrád, the seat of the Hungarian Kings participants can explore the ruins of the old Royal Palace and the medieval fortress. Lunch is served in the Renaissance Restaurant which offers a unique atmosphere and great cuisine.

Jewish Sights of Budapest / Cancelled

A three-hour long walking tour in the world’s second largest Synagogue and its surroundings including an inside visit of the Synagogue complex (Jewish Museum, ghetto and World War II area history). The Synagogue and the nearby Jewish Quarter have a very rich history. By the end of the 18th century the Jewish people were allowed to leave the Buda side of the city and they created this area known as the Jewish quarter of Budapest on the Pest side.

Szentendre is located by the River Danube about 25 km North from Budapest. This colorful artists’ settlement has preserved its medieval character with ancient buildings and cobble stone streets which are nowadays cheered up with numerous street vendors, musicians lending a Mediterranean character to this small town.

A tour to Gödöllő, a settlement close to Budapest, to the castle of Grassalkovich which was the residence of the Habsburg Royal Couple (King Franz Joseph and Queen Elisabeth) during the second half of the 19th century. The largest baroque building complex in Hungary is now under reconstruction but the main parts of the building - including the apartments of the royal couple, the beautiful ballroom and the baroque theatre - can be visited.
Transportation by bus, English-speaking guide, entrance fee and lunch at the Lázár Equestrian Park are included.

Evening sightseeing-tour on the River Danube. The boat is cruising between Margaret Bridge and Lágymányosi Bridge so you can enjoy the fascinating sight of the illuminated Budapest while having a buffet dinner.

Cancellation policy
All the cancellations and changes of optional tours/program must be sent to the Conference Organizer in written form.

Refund of the optional tours/program fee will be made as follows

  • 100% refund (minus an administrative fee of 10 EURO) - in case of cancellation received before 12 April, 2010
  • No refund – in case of cancellation received after 12 April, 2010

All refunds will be processed after the LES PAN-EUROPEAN CONFERENCE 2010. Please send your exact bank account details in the written cancellation.
